Sugary Sweet

Good morning friends! I hope everyone had a pleasant weekend.

I got this image from Funky Kits - Sugar Nellie Stamps  This wee one made me think of a cyber friend that is expecting - she's not sure if it's a boy or girl yet - but she's hoping for a boy since this will be her 4th and she has 1 boy and 2 girls! Sooooo, I colored this image with her in mind using blue. (used colored pencils and OMS)
I ran the card base through my embosser and then added strips cut from scrap paper (don't remember what brand). Used a doily behind the image with pearls and a flower punch. Stamped the word JOY with a stamp from Michaels, used pop dots and pearls.

This card is entered in The Sugar Bowl challenge: Use Your Scraps
For the rules and deadline, please go to their blog.

Thank you for looking and I hope you have a blessed and creative day!

My first EVER challenge...wish me luck!

Hi All!

Hope you have had a wonderful week, mine has been kinda hectic! Sooooo...I finally had some "me" time to create. I've been making a few cards and trying out a few things. This card is for the Southern Girls Challenge. The challenge is layers...

The top is, of course the outside and it is going to be a Thanksgiving card for my in-laws. The scarecrow is from Beccy's Place  (love her stuff) and she is a very generous person with her digi images and tutorials! It is colored with pencils and OMS. The inside of the card is left blank for our sentiment to be written when appropriate.

Thanks for taking the time to look and I hope you have a blessed and creative day!

Almost the weekend...

Well, it's Thursday...almost the weekend! YAY!!!

Tomorrow evening, Friday 9th, on the Black Cat US Forum, we are having a Mini Crop. Woohoo, yippee, yay, I love these! And Christy always does such an awesome job organizing. Take the time to go check it out, I'm sure you will have loads of fun and you just might find something you haven't tried before or haven't done in a long time. Just go to the Crops and Challenges thread and you will find the fun there!!!

Now for a card I made for My in-laws' anniversary. The outside was made using white cardstock, gold vellum and an image from Mo's Digital Pencil. She has some of the most real looking files available, I just love her stuff, so talented! The image is titled "Young Love", check it out! I colored it with colored pencils and OMS.

The presentation box I made from white cardstock from instructions I read on Beccy's Place, scored in a criss-cross pattern and added a piece of gold vellum that was embossed on my Texture Boutique, then used sheer black ribbon and a silk flower.
And on the inside, for a bit of humor, I used an image from Bugaboo Digi Stamps titled "Stella Love - Person to Annoy" colored with my Copics. This is such a fun image and Bugaboo Digi Stamps has some of the best out there, in my opinion, for humor! Love 'em!!!
Thanks for taking a look and I hope you have a blessed and creative day!

In-Law's 50th Anniversary...

I hope that all of you had a wonderful Labor Day!

Sorry that I've been MIA this past month!! I have been working on my Mother-In-Law and Father-In-Law's 50th Anniversary Party (it was a barbeque)...I had to design, make and mail all of the invitations. Plus I had to make her memory/guest book, thank you gifts, centerpieces and be photographer!  Well, I think I've almost recuperated...LOL. Oh yeah, it was NOT catered...we also did the food!!

Anyhoo...here are a couple of pics that were taken of the centerpieces (which were double sided - thank you to Christy for teaching me about the candles..) and the invitations...
Here are the Thank You boxes...(ummm, only a few...LOL)
and here is a pic with the guest/memory book...
some of the decorations...

Thanks for looking and I hope you have a blessed and creative day!
