Momento Mori...revisited

Today, at Simply Steampunk Challenges, we are launching a re-release of some of our favorite Steampunk images available from Simply Betty Stamps.

For my first piece, I chose Momento Mori. I think she is a very versatile image...

I have used my wonderful Silver Bullet Professional to cut her and the shadow layer out as well as the scrolled frame behind her. I have used crinkled ribbon and pearls from my stash. A timepiece from Hobby Lobby and designer paper from Prima - Engraver 6x6 pad.

She has been colored with my Copics and Promarkers as follows:

Hair: YR 20, 23, 27
Eyes: E15, 18, 29
Lips: R56, 59
Clothing: Promarkers Warm Grey 1, 3, 4, 5

Beware the wolf...

Little Red knows she has to watch out for that aweful wolf...but granny needs her...

 The papers used are loose leaf papers from Hobby Lobby and both are the Paper Studio brand that they carry. The papers have been embossed with a Sizzix Tim Holtz Alterations embossing folder - Pocket Watches. And then inked with Vintage Photo Distress ink to reveal the watch relief. The "wood" behind her is a strip of craft cardstock embossed with an embossing folder by Cuttlebug - Distressed Stripes.

Little Red has been contour cut with my Silver Bullet Professional 

and colored with my copics using the following colors:

Skin: E50, 00, 53, 93

Hair: C3, 5, 7 & 100

Dress: E70, 74

Black Accessories: N2, 6, 10

Hood/Cape: E04, 07, 09

Winter Beauty

Presenting the beautiful SNOW QUEEN

The Snow Queen is a member of the fabulous Fairy Tales & Myths collection over at Simply Betty Stamps.

I have used deep purple cardstock as the base and mat for the image and a lavender plain cardstock for the accent mat.

The clock paper is a handmade paper purchased from Michael's and a clock embossing folder was used to give it a little steampunk flavor.

The purple (I know, it looks blue in the picture, but it REALLY is purple) doily is a leftover from another project and it worked beautifully with this one!

The embellishments are from Michael's and are Jolee's boutique by EK Success. When I saw them, my first thought was "fairy tales".

A Little Beauty Sleep...

Challenge time over at Simply Steampunk Challenges

The Challenge for this month is:

Create your own background, only one piece of Designer paper.  

This means, use stencils, stamps, misting liquids, and the like.  You can use one other piece of designer paper, that is all...

Grab your Steampunk image as it is REQUIRED you use a Steampunk Image and come on and join in our fun... 

you MUST follow the Challenge rules to be considered for the prize.

For my challenge image I have the gorgeous 

Sleeping Beauty by Abigail Larson

I used my Silver Bullet Professional and SCAL to do a print & cut of this gorgeous image and then colored her with my Copics. 

The key was cut from chipboard with my Silver Bullet Pro as well and then sprayed and inked. 

I chose not to use any designer paper, instead choosing to make both pieces from scratch.  The background paper is a coffee filter that has been sprayed, distressed and stamped then applied to a piece of cardstock. The paper strip is black card stock that has been embossed with an embossing folder, inked with copper ink and then wet embossed with UTEE...kinda looks like cobblestones. 

The flowers, feathers and clock charm are from my stash.

Coffin: E40, 41, 43, 44, 47
