Momento Mori...revisited

Today, at Simply Steampunk Challenges, we are launching a re-release of some of our favorite Steampunk images available from Simply Betty Stamps.

For my first piece, I chose Momento Mori. I think she is a very versatile image...

I have used my wonderful Silver Bullet Professional to cut her and the shadow layer out as well as the scrolled frame behind her. I have used crinkled ribbon and pearls from my stash. A timepiece from Hobby Lobby and designer paper from Prima - Engraver 6x6 pad.

She has been colored with my Copics and Promarkers as follows:
Skin: E50, 00, 53, 93
Hair: YR 20, 23, 27
Eyes: E15, 18, 29
Lips: R56, 59
Clothing: Promarkers Warm Grey 1, 3, 4, 5

Don't forget, you still have time to enter this month's challenge - Create Your Own Background

A new challenge will start April 5th...

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a blessed and creative day!

The Skull Ribbon/Border file is one I designed in SCAL and if you care to download it, I have the SVG file available for download here. The green one is vellum and the purply-pink one is #110 cardstock. Both cut like butter. Hope you like it, and if you use it, please send me a link so I can see your creations! I love to see how any of my files are used...

Spika the Mermaid

It's that time again...the Simply Betty Facebook Fan Page Challenge...

Betty so generously gives a digi stamp each month for the challenge. You have to be a fan of the page in order to receive it and there are rules that apply.

Well, this month's theme is Good vs. Evil. It is a choice between mermaids...Roxie the Good Mermaid and Spika the Bad Mermaid!  You have to reflect the "character" of your chosen mermaid in your project.

I guess you can tell which I chose!! LOL

I printed Spika out on my Cryogen White card that I purchased from Patricia at Paper Temptress - she's got superb pricing and fantastic customer support - go check her out! (Matter of fact...I need to place another order! LOL)

Then I did a contour cut (also know as print & cut) with my Silver Bullet Professional Cutter, colored her with my mixed bag of alcohol markers and decided that she needed to "look" like she was caught for a crime...so I used a black & white striped paper as the background - to simulate the bars of a jail - and placed some seaweed around her, also cut with my SBP. I then knew that she had to have a weapon for her "crime" and thought what better than a trident?? So, I cut one of those as well...placed a little "blood" on the tips and on her hand...there was no denying her crime! Guilty as charged!!

LOL - this was a really fun one to play with, so I hope you like my rendition.

Well, that's it for today!

I hope you all have a blessed and creative day and will stop by again really soon!

Summer...

Hey y'all!

I hope this finds each of you doing well!

I have been playing with markers...and I mean really playing 'cause I have no idea how to really, really color with them...ROFLOL I just go with what seems to work for me...I have Letraset ProMarkers, a few Letraset Flex Markers and some Copics...a few of this and a few of that...well, you get my drift! I just use whateva' I can get my little hands on.

Oh, and yeah, ummmm...don't look too close take your glasses off...so you don't see where I am out of the lines...like I said...I'm learning...

So, I'm a fan over at Simply B Stamps Fanbook on Facebook and for this month's challenge Betty so generously gave us "Summer the Fairy" (the digi) to play with...you could choose eyes open or closed...I chose closed and HERE is my take on her...

Don't you just L-O-V-E her?? She screams happy summer to me!

I did a PnC with her through SCAL on my Silver Bullet Professional...I just brought her in and did a shadow layer so I could print the digi and then cut around her...cause we all know, my cutting by hand isn't always so pretty! LOL But, man-o-man, didn't my SBP cut a fantastic outline of her?? The SBP & SCAL both R-O-C-K!!

Take a trip over to the store Simply Betty Stamps and check out all of the most fabulous digis, rubber and clear stamps that Betty creates...they are awesome and not the "norm"! And she has lots, yep...boat loads of other things to offer as well. So, I will stop talking now so you can make that trip...

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you again real soon!

Have a blessed and creative day!

Hi Beautiful!

I have a friend that isn't feeling so well right now and this card was made with her in mind.

This wonderful digi is by Saturated Canary called Blanche. Isn't she about the hottest babe around? I loved her the minute I saw her!! She's colored with my Promarkers (which I'm still learning to use -teehee- and I'm loving them). And she is sprayed with Perfect Pearls Perfect Pearl Mist...that's why she looks a little spotty...it's the shimmer.

The card has papers from My Minds Eye-Six by Six-Happier, hem tape ribbon, a pin that I made and other various stuff from my stash. I used some Spellbinders Dies as well as word stamps from the Paper Studio.

I hope my friend, and you, likes this! Let me know what you think... LOL

Thank you for taking some time out of your day to stop by for a few and I hope you will do so again soon!

I wish you a blessed and creative day.

Until later,
Lisa
